At Eastern States, we’re always working to improve the experience for everyone involved—runners, volunteers, crews, spectators, and the land managers who make this race possible. With our participant cap increasing, we’re seeing more crews and more people at key points along the course. Aid Station 3 – Lower Pine Bottom, the first crew-accessible aid station, has become a major gathering point for checking in on runners.
To support this growth, we’re rolling out several improvements at this location:
A safer runner approach. Runners will now arrive at the aid station via a new trail that loops around the DCNR Tiadaghton HQ property. This keeps runners off the road and away from vehicle traffic—resolving a significant safety concern from past years.
More crew parking and clearer flow. With runners no longer using the road, we can now open additional space for vehicle parking. We’ve created a detailed map specifically for crews and spectators, since many needed guidance last year on where to park and where to link up with their runners.
We hope this updated layout helps make your race-day planning smoother and your time at Lower Pine Bottom less chaotic. See you out there.
