AID STATION NUTRITION

The aid stations are well stocked with fluids and a variety of foods. The fluids that are generally available are: water, hydration/energy drink (Tailwind), ginger ale and cola. The late stage aid stations will also generally have soup and hot coffee. We give our aid station captains freedom to develop their own menus, which they publish on the Facebook group page. If you do not have social media, we will repost menus below when available. The foods that are generally available are: salt replacement foods such as saltines, pretzels, chips; fruits such as oranges, bananas, and melons; potatoes, cookies, candies, sandwiches, etc. Aid stations also try to have their own unique foods available throughout the course. Generally vegetarian options are available but we cannot guarantee the ability to accommodate all dietary choices and restrictions.

Menu below published on August 3rd, 2025.

CUPLESS RACE
In an effort to be more sustainable and friendly towards the environment, the Eastern States 100 Ultramarathon is a cupless races. All runners will need to carry their own reusable cup throughout the race to use at aid stations.

NASAID POLICY

The use of Ibuprofen or Naprosyn can lead to kidney problems when used in abundance and/or under stressful conditions. Aid stations will not provide these medications to any runner. If you feel the need to bring and use your own pain medications or anti-inflammatories, then you are willing to assume the responsibility for their use.

ABOUT THE AID STATIONS

Our Aid Stations: The Beating Heart of Eastern States

At Eastern States 100, we like to think we have the best aid stations you’ll find anywhere. That’s not bragging—it’s the truth we’ve witnessed year after year.

Our aid stations aren’t just tables with water and snacks. They’re run by captains and crews with serious trail-running cred, people who know exactly what it feels like to be out there grinding through the miles. Many are veterans of this race, or they come to us from other events and organizations we care deeply about. They know the community, they know the suffering, and they know how to lift you back up when you need it most.

And they keep coming back. Time after time, these captains and their crews return to the Pennsylvania Wilds to look after you. They’ve become part of the Eastern States family—woven into the very fabric of this race. Each station has its own personality, traditions, and flavor, but together they form a safety net, a cheering squad, and a lifeline rolled into one.

When you roll into an Eastern States aid station, you’re not just getting calories and fluids—you’re getting cared for by people who get it. People who want nothing more than to see you keep moving forward.

Meet the family.
